Richard Henry Brunton

Richard Brunton is a Scottish engineer who made little impact in his own country, but is highly regarded in Japan as the crreator of Japan's netowrk of lighthouses. He was also the founder of Yokohama University, a fact commemorated with a bust in the grounds of the University (bottom). Details are given here.
